Shaun

I’m Shaun,  Founder of Your Driving Coach.

I have been an approved driving instructor for 5 years. My current tuition vehicle is a manual Mercedes A Class and I cover Norwich and the surrounding area.

Prior to this, I was an area director within the banking industry. In 2018, I founded YDC to provide support for students of all abilities and additional support for those that suffer with their mental health. I also wanted to provide a great place to work, where the team feel empowered, valued and supported.

When I’m not working, I enjoy cooking, reading and socialising with my wife Cherry. We love to travel, see the world and experience other cultures.

Matt

I’m Matt and I’m an automatic instructor. My tuition vehicle is a Mercedes A Class and I cover Dereham, Costessey, Taverham, Bowthorpe, West Earlham, Tuckswood and Heathersett.

I have been an approved driving instructor for 6 years and I love being the person that helps others achieve their goals and independence. Previously, I worked as a branch manager at the UK’s largest independent decorators merchant.

When I’m not delivering lessons for students, you will find me spending time with my Labrador, Woody and my Staffy cross Labrador, Pebbs. I enjoy hiking, travel, photography and videography.

Steve

I’m Steve and I’m a manual instructor covering Norwich and surrounding areas and my tuition vehicle is a Mercedes A Class.

I really enjoy watching my students grow and seeing them become safe and confident drivers. When they pass their test, its a great feeling and I am really looking forward to helping more students pass!

When I’m not teaching, I am always up to something! I’m either coaching my sons local football team, going to the gym, going on family holidays with my wife and 2 brilliant kids or watching my football team (Liverpool) win most weeks.

Bryan

I’m Bryan and I’m an automatic instructor. My tuition vehicle is a Toyota Yaris Hybrid and I cover Central Norwich.

I love getting to know my students and watch as they progress and succeed and I like making lessons fun. I also enjoy being part of a team where I can make suggestions and have them heard and discussed. It’s an open and cheerful environment to work in and I’m looking forward to seeing YDC expand and I can grow with it.

Prior to joining YDC, I have been in retail Management and a night retail assistant. I live with my partner and 3 cats and I really enjoy cooking, eating, talking about food, reading, gaming and sometimes a trip to the gym

Fun fact: I was raised in the Caribbean and I learned to drive with Your Driving Coach!!

Darren
Hi, I’m Darren! I’m a manual driving instructor covering central and south Norwich. My tuition vehicle is a manual Skoda Karoq.
I’m really excited to help my students learn and grow into safe and confident drivers.  I’m new to YDC and to instructing, but I’m looking forward to meeting everyone and celebrating their successes!
When I’m not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my partner and two children. I’m a bit of a film and superhero geek, and I also love gaming.  Before becoming an instructor, I was a business manager for McDonald’s working there for 20 years (so this is a big change!).
Jamie
Hi, I’m Jamie and I am a manual instructor based in Cringleford, Norwich, covering South/West/East Norwich and the surrounding areas of Eaton, Easton, Costessey, Mulbarton, Hethersett, Wymondham, Attleborough, Earlham, Bowthorpe, Lakenham & Hempnall.
I drive a new (2023) Seat Leon, a wonderful tuition vehicle, that benefits from being a diesel (reducing stalling) and modern technology driving aids (lane assist/electronic automatic handbrake) that all significantly lower the cognitive load (how hard your brain is working!) on the student so they can concentrate on mastering the key skills and experiences they need to develop to become a safe, confident driver on UK roads.
Learning to drive is full of challenges, and every learner is unique and my role is to help you navigate each step (or mile), building on the skills and the confidence you develop from each lesson, which are tailored to your specific, individual needs.
Out of the car, I live a hectic, but fantastic life. As a dad of my two boys, Toby and Noah (14 & 11) and my daughter, Lydia (3), I am always busy, whether it is coaching my son’s football team, watching them play rugby, playing tea parties or helping them finish last minute homework!! Running is my escape (my longest distance run is 100km!) and along with a family dog walk on a Norfolk beach, my favourite way to relax.
Alan

Hello,

My name is Alan and I’m a manual instructor covering Northampton and the surrounding villages, such as Wollaston. My teaching car is a Ford Puma; a great all round car that is very forgiving.

I retired from full time work a few years back, having spent many years delivering major IT projects for banks. I now live on a golf course, but I found that I still wanted a challenge that the golf course can’t bring! I started my formal training when my granddaughter suggested it, following successfully coaching her through her test.

I relish the opportunities and challenges in helping novices become truly accomplished drivers. As all of my children now have families of their own, I am happy with evening and some weekend slots, as long as it doesn’t interfere with watching The Saints!……..
